Capital Area Science and Math Center

The Capital Area Science and Mathematics Center (CASM) provides services in science and mathematics education to K-12 students and teachers in mid-Michigan. CASM is housed at Clinton County RESA and has the following program partners: Clinton County RESA, Eaton ISD, Ingham ISD, Ionia County ISD, Shiawassee RESD, and Lansing Community College.

CASM is a member of the Michigan Mathematics and Science Centers Network, a collaboration of 33 regional centers throughout the state created by the Michigan Legislature to elevate mathematics and science education for all students in Michigan. IN-DEPTH SESSIONS FOR ALGEBRA TEACHERS CONTINUE
CASM is offering a second opportunity for high school Geometry teachers to examine their practice and increase their ability to reach ALL students in Geometry through the EMATHS program - "Embracing Mathematics and Technology in High School". The in-depth series will be held at CCRESA for eight days beginning in October  and ending in January.

Beginning in February 2011 a second opportunity for high school Algebra teachers in Algebra 2 series ending in April 2011.

EMATHS is available through a Math/Science Partnership grant program out of Macomb Intermediate School District. This is the fifth offering from this grant project; previous topics included Algebra 1 & 2.
